Becki Newton

Becki Newton, who was born from New Haven in Connecticut, was raised at Guilford in Connecticut. She's English as well as Czech descent and began performing shows and musicals at local theaters. She also studied at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned an B.A. in European History. Newton was one of the Penn pupil, was a member Alpha Chi Omega. Newton relocated into New York City after graduation and began working in TV commercials, including Olive Garden. Newton was the character Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 through 2010. Newton hosted the Ugly Betty Podcast with co-star Michael Urie. Newton also appeared on ABC.com's Mode After Hours webisode series. Ugly Betty, which had several successful seasons at the time, was cancelled in 2010. This gave the show the chance to get a proper finale. Newton had her New York City Center encores debut in the year 2009. performance of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was produced by Jerry Zaks. Newton was the character Molly Gray and performed opposite the husband of her life, Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton appeared in Love Bites. The hour-long romantic comedy was conceived by the executive producer Cindy Chupack, who worked for Sex and the City. NBC originally announced its plans to acquire Love Bites in May 2010. After Newton disclosed her pregnancy as well as co-star Jordana spiro was contractually obligated by her My Boys My Boys to run the show for a second season and it was moved until the middle of season.
